An introduction to weaving on a frame loom using a variety of materials. The participant will engage in the meditative process of hand weaving to create their very own wall hanging. You will learn foundational weaving skills, taught by the tutor Claire Whelan who is a very experienced weaver and designer, Claire will be on hand with tips and ideas to enhance your vision. Steps taught will include: loom set up, colour & texture selection, structure, and basic weaving techniques and a small variety of patterns.

You will be asked to bring some visuals (drawings, photographs, collages, anything you like) to encourage the student to develop his/her own distinctive visual voice as a weaver.

Tea & biscuits will be provided to keep you refreshed throughout.
