In this one day workshop you will learn how to make a terrazzo and wood trivet. Covering introductions to both woodwork and Jesmonite terrazzo casting the day will be split into two halves.

For one half of the day you will make half the trivet in timber, learning how to use hand tools to cut a halving joint, a useful and often used woodworking technique used in furniture making.

You will then learn how to work with Terrazzo to create the other half of the trivet. Design your own colour palette, then learn how to mix and add pigment to Jesmonite to cast into the moulds.

Finally you will join the two halves together, drill a hole for hanging, then sand and finish to complete your trivet to take home.
